Atlas has had several ages throughout its history, with each one beginning after or during a major world event, and having widespread ramifications for Santoria. There have been eight ages so far, and the continent is currently in the Eighth age.

AUTHORS NOTE: THIS PAGE IS ENTIRELY LORE-FOCUSED AND I TOOK MANY CREATIVE LIBERTIES WITH THE SERVER'S CURRENTLY INCOMPLETE LORE/TIMELINE, SO PLEASE GO EASY ON ME AND DON'T HATE ON THE PAGE

The First Age--Creation of the World[]

The First Age, otherwise known as the Alpha period, are the days before common life in the world, when only the gods ruled. Following (and throughout) the creation of the world, years passed in which powerful elder beings roamed the lands. Very little is known about this age, other than the fact that this was most likely the longest age thus far, spanning the entire creation of Atlas.

Beginning: Creation of Atlas

Beginning Date: Unknown, sometime in 2022

Important Events: Creation of Atlas and Santoria

End: Creation of sentient life in Atlas (Closed Beta start)

End Date: November 11, 2022

The Second Age--Closed Beta[]

The Second Age is commonly referred to as the Closed Beta. During this time, the first mortal beings appeared in the world, overseen by the elder beings who still walked the surface of Atlas. Very little happened during this age, but it served as an experiment for the Gods to see if sentient life could survive and prosper in the world.

Beginning: Creation of sentient life in Atlas (Closed Beta start)

Beginning Date: November 11, 2022

Important events: Beginning of civilization on the continent of Santoria, writing of the Book of War (first edition)

End: Great Migration

End Date: December 2, 2022

The Third Age--Open Beta[]

The Third Age began with the Great Migration of life from all across the multiverse into the realm of Atlas, and saw the start of the "Open Beta". This age truly saw the beginning of Santoria's modern era, with early civilizations mostly forming here. Groups such as ULA, the Kraken's Call, and Terra Sancta were established and grew into great nations. This was a relatively peaceful time for the continent of Santoria, with most beings simply enjoying themselves and getting along. However, by the end of this age, the world had grown stagnant, and very little was happening.

Beginning: Great Migration

Beginning Date: December 10, 2022

Important Events: Great Migration, creation of the ULA (the first nation), establishment of Valinthia, Nameel, and Skandia, First Fox Crusade, the "Great NicholasOcean massacre", Krakens-Borsod Armistice, founding of the Stones, formation of the ARC (Anti-Raider Coalition)

End: Creation of Gump

End Date: Unknown, probably early 2023

The Fourth Age--Age of Gump[]

This age began a few years* after the Great Migration, when the world began to settle down, and the growth of civilization plateaued. It seemed that Atlas was doomed to pass into obscurity, slowly declining forever. But soon, a new nation began to rise in power, which inadvertently revived the continent and began to usher Santoria toward a golden age. This nation was known as Gumperium. Ruled from the land of Gump a southeastern land that had existed since the beginning of the Third Age, this new nation rapidly grew in prominence, and by the end of the age they were undoubtedly the most powerful nation in the world.

Beginning: Creation of Gumperium

Beginning Date: Unknown, early 2023

Important Events: Creation of Gumperium, decline of Borsod and Old Kraken's Call, Gump-Skandia War

End: Gradual shift into the Fifth Age

End Date: Unknown, likely in June 2023

The Fifth Age--Golden Age[]

The Fifth Age was a golden age for Santoria. Near the end of the Fourth Age, many new beings began appearing in Atlas, sparking the Second Great Migration. Countless new lands and several new nations also formed around this time, while existing nations flourished. This age was a time of peace and prosperity for the entire continent, and is still considered to be the best time period the world has ever seen.

Beginning: Slow transition from Fourth Age

Beginning Date: Unclear, sometime in May/June 2023

Important events: The Kraken's Call, Oskium and Sanctuarium are reestablished, NEDA and URE are created, Ragnarok-Imperium War, the UN disbands

End: Slow transition into Sixth Age

End Date: No clear date, sometime in October 2023

The Sixth Age--Silver Age[]

Near the end of the Fifth Age, the Second Great Migration came to an end, and this caused a subtle shift in Atlas, as the continent shifted into the Silver Age. This was a quieter, calmer age, but also never reached the heights of the Golden Age. Around this time, the world entered another period of stagnation, where nothing important truly happened. However, this changed near the end of the age, when politics across the continent began to rise in intricacy. Tensions rose between Gumperium and Ragnarok, while simultaneously the initial plans for the Atlas Coalition Treaty (ACT) were formed. Overall, this was a quiet but important age, as it marked a shift in power dynamics across Santoria.

Beginning: End of Second Great Migration, slow transition from Fifth Age

Beginning Date: Unclear, sometime in October 2023

Important Events: ULA-NEDA Cold War, 1 Year Anniversary Event, Auspizien is established, URE reforms into TME and then CORE, Freshwater-Fellowship Conflict, Order of the Black Sun established, Nameel reestablished, creation of AUTM, NEDA reforms into UFN, Imperium-Olympia Conflict, Rag-Gump War

End: Rag-Gump War

End Date: March 30, 2024

The Seventh Age--Age of Rag[]

The Seventh Age, beginning immediately after the Rag-Gump War. Though Gump won the war, they rapidly declined in power throughout this age, with many of their members abandoning the nation or disappearing entirely. Meanwhile, Ragnarok grew stronger, accepting many new members and lands, and forming a close alliance with the rapidly expanding nation of Fellowship. However, this age also saw the creation of the ACT alliance between UFN, Terra Sancta, NorthStar, and Nameel (with the newly established nations of Elysia and AUTM joining shortly after its formation), leading to rising global tensions caused by the two increasingly powerful world superpowers. This cold war grew even more tense when the Stones, a PVP group made up of former Rag members, established their own nation, KOS, as a third party in the conflict. But ultimately, little violence broke out. In July 2023, Ragnarok began to decline due to the formation of Asgard, a new nation created in direct opposition to them and KOS. With global tensions decreasing, peace was (mostly) restored. Overall, this age was a tense period of political conflicts, with massive wars being narrowly avoided frequently.

Beginning: Rag-Gump War

Beginning Date: March 30, 2024

Important Events: ULA reformed into NorthStar, Dissolution of Gumperium and CORE, NightFire Controversy, Establishment of Fellowship, Abandonment of Old Auspizien, creation of KOE and Elysia, Nameelian-Ivor Conflict, Redmane Controversy, establishment of the ACT, creation of KOS

End: Abrupt, but subtle, transition into Eighth Age

End Date: Unclear, sometime in early August 2024

The Eighth Age--Present Day[]

We are currently in the world's Eighth Age, and have been for roughly 2* years. So far, it is unclear what this age will become known for. This has been a quiet age, with few globally important events taking place, the most notable probably being the formation of Aeternus, a new nation with currently unclear goals and motives. We will simply have to wait and see to determine what Aeternus, and this age overall, will be known for years* from now.

Beginning: Subtle transition from Seventh Age

Beginning Date: Unclear, early August 2024

Important Events (so far): Dissolution of KOE, Unclaiming of Gump, formation of the Federation of Aeternus, Black Sun Session II

End: Unclear

End Date: Unclear
